Iqî-eve Bî (/ˈiqɪ/ /ˈeve/ [fun] [sock]) is a subtropical Town located in the Ênog̈ifê Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Iqî-eve Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Iqî-eve Bî was founded by Carson Tshêth, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Iqî-eve Bî has a yearly average temperature of 24°C (75°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 22°C (71°F). Iqî-eve Bî receives an average of 187 cm/y (73 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Iqî-eve Bî covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 4156 m (13635 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Iqî-eve Bî was founded durring the early 14th century in winter of the year 1312, by Carson Tshêth. The establishment of Iqî-eve Bî was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Carson Tshêth struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Iqî-eve Bî as a prison colony.

Iqî-eve Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Iqî-eve Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Iqî-eve Bî is is constructed arround a semi-circular narrow packed earth mainstreet, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town is protected by a series of wooden fences ringing the town's parimiter, which are likly intended to keep varrious beasts out of town rather than protect it from attack by any intelegent agents. Iqî-eve Bî's bare minimum defences has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

A look around Iqî-eve Bî makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It's as if the town itself is depressed. Smiles are few, cheer is nowhere to be had. Everyone quietly goes about their daily business not looking anyone in the eye.

Iqî-eve Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

A substantial minority of the locals are descended from foreigners alien to their local neighbors. They may have been religious exiles, economic migrants, indigenous locals surrounded by the existing polity, or a foreign settlement conquered within the relatively recent past. The locals may not be enthusiastic about being ruled by others not of their kind, and their neighbors may look askance at the way foreign customs or even laws may be maintained.

Iqî-eve Bî's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.

Due to the actions of local Kami, summer is skipped in Iqî-eve Bî.

The Frog, Giant Dire (3PP) near Iqî-eve Bî are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Iqî-eve Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves square dance to channel Summoning energies of tier 3 via guttural bellowing.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Iqî-eve Bî was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Iqî-eve Bî lost 259 people, 336 livestock, and 26 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 211, when members of Iqî-eve Bî's militia enacted an operation to gain control of a particular strategic location. The operation was complicated by major logistical problems. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the strategic location, which ended in defeat for Iqî-eve Bî's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Iqî-eve Bî's bards, historians, and legend keepers.

History
